Today was, for the most part, a travel day. We began with Mass at the Basilica of Saint John Francis Regis early in the morning and spent over an hour afterwards praying. In addition, we got to see some of the charming little shops in Lalouvesc, including an antique store with a large selection of beautiful crucifixes, holy water fonts, statues, holy cards and other antique Catholic items. We departed Lalouvesc around 10:15am, adjusting the schedule as the day progressed. We chose to bypass Le Puy en Velay and then, after finding out the Church where St. Thomas Aquinas rests was closed, bypassed Toulouse in order to make it to Lourdes by 8pm. We spent the bulk of the day bonding over prayer, fellowship, and napping on board the bus. The beauty of the French countryside was as incredible as imagined, making the travel all the more enjoyable. The beauty and grandeure of the shrine to Our Lady of Lourdes struck us from the first sighting on the bus. Later in the evening, we were privileged to walk through the night-lit grotto, brushing our hands along the stones where our mother in heaven appeared to Saint Bernadette. We will spend the whole day tomorrow praying at and exploring this shrine. Until then, Au revoir! - Isabelle Pryor
